I love taking photos. I just love it! It is hard for me to put in to words what makes photography so special. That's probably because with photography you don't need words. The photo says it all.
I am not a poet or a writer but my photos always tell a story. The beauty of a moment when a groom looks at his bride and sees his future, when a father gives away his little girl, or when a child's smile holds all the wonder in the world: these are the moments best told with images.
My mission when taking your photos is to record these precious moments that time will soon steal. My reward is knowing that these photos are priceless to you and that they will be cherished for a lifetime . . . or more.
HISTORY
I started taking photos when I was 12. But I really fell for photography when I spent a semester as an exchange student in New Zealand when I was 16. I took my first photography class there and fell. in. love! When I came home, I wanted to live, breathe and eat photography so I joined the yearbook and took more photography classes.
When I went to college, it was a no-brainer! I started out in fine art photography but quickly realized my passion was photojournalism. I graduated with a B.A. in Photojournalism and Minor in Fine Art Photography. It was the best of both worlds.
And that's what I continue today. That's why I call myself a portrait journalist because I don't completely fit into one category (photojournalism) or the other (traditional portraits).
I am married to the love of my life, Jay, and we just celebrated our 7th anniversary. I feel like I understand exactly how a bride feels, I was one. And now that we have our own family (no kids! just 3 dogs) I understand family dynamics and really feel like I can relate to my clients.
I have been blessed since a young age knowing what path I wanted in life with photography. I am just as blessed today being able to grow with my clients from their weddings to families of their own. I love, love what I do!
